Camps and Excursions
Students gain a great deal from visiting venues that can demonstrate in practical ways the things they have been learning in class. Therefore all grades conduct excursions during the course of the year. The places visited depend on the topic being studied in class.
In addition to excursions, classes may also conduct camps. Currently the Year 4 students go on a 3-day camp to Maranatha Recreation Camp on the Sunshine Coast and the Year 5 students go on an annual 4-day camp to Noosa Northshore Total Adventures. This is an adventure camp that challenges children in a variety of activities that they may ordinarily not experience, e.g. canoeing, archery, flying fox etc. Year 3 have a two-day camp, which is at the YMCA Camp in Petrie, North Brisbane.
The Year 6 students attend a Leadership Day retreat at the beginning of Term 1, and also an extended trip to Carnarvon Gorge in Term 2.
