Recognising Individual Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.)
The Recognising Individual Student Excellence or R.I.S.E. program aims to provide an intellectually stimulating learning environment which challenges and inspires students and fosters their love of learning. Academically gifted and talented students are specifically catered for through our Learning Extension programs, provided by our highly qualified and experienced Gifted Ediucation staff.
Each program has its own particular set of entry criteria. Identifying students who would benefit from inclusion in the different Learning Extension programs is a continuous process throughout the student's time at St Paul's.
Co-ordinated by RISE Teacher Mrs Narelle Palmer, the St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School Students from Year 5 and 6 have recently experienced success in their debut to virtual debating. The virtual aspect of the competition alleviates the need to travel while enabling the school teams to compete against a range of opponents at a national level.
In 2015 the now named Independent Schools Digital Collaboration Network (ISDCN) began a full national competition in 2016 and in 2017, 96 teams will compete across four divisions. The Years 5 and 6 competitions will run double elimination over 16 team draws.
Following is a link which will allow you to view the team in action during the second round.
