Term 4 Week 6

Dear Parents and Caregivers

It was most appropriate for our Year 6 students to lead the 500th Anniversary of Reformation celebrations at their School Sunday. This must be one of the best School Sundays which I have attended in terms of the smooth flowing of the message, singing, dancing, short skits and confidence. It was also very powerful to watch the Year 6 students and the church choir lead the worship part of the service so well together. Well done and thank you to those Year 6 students who stepped up and made this, their final School Sunday, such a memorable occasion. Thank you to Mr. Smith, Mrs. Cottrell and Mrs. Dellaway for the work done behind the scenes in the lead up to this event and a further thank you is extended to the many parents, extended family members and friends for also supporting the students in this on the day.

How good was the Colour Run on Friday? What started out as an idea by our P&F Group earlier in the year to “jazz up” the annual walk-a-thon, has turned out to be a fun-filled and very successful school community event and definitely one to consider for the future. Thank you to our P&F Group, ably led by Mrs. Lyndel Miles, for all the work done in hosting this event. Thank you to the numerous P&F Members and parent helpers who stepped up to make this event possible for the children to enjoy. Congratulations to Daityn M in Year 4 in on raising the most money, while Year 4B raised the most money as a class.

Yesterday our Senior School robotics students participated in the St Paul’s/Grace College FLL robotics Competition. Good luck to the following students who have now been chosen to represent our school at the FLL Robotics Regional Competition to be held at Grace College, Rothwell this coming Sunday. Thank you to Mrs. Stanhope, Mr. Josh Witham , parent helpers and staff for your time, assistance and the motivation of these students over the past few months in preparation for this year’s competition program.

As we begin to wrap up our school journey for 2017, we look forward to hosting our many volunteers at our annual Volunteers’ Morning Tea next week Tuesday.  Without the incredible commitment from these many hard working members within our community, we would struggle to host many events and various classroom initiatives which take place in and around the school on a regular basis.

Next week Friday the teachers will be editing and proofing the Semester 2 reports in readiness for them to go out during Week 8. This early timeframe will enable you to either call a meeting with or be invited to a meeting by your students classroom teacher to discuss any aspect of your child’s report card. Further details regarding the distribution of our Semester 2 reports will be made available over the coming fortnight.

Have a wonderful week.

Yours in Christ
