Dear Parents and Caregivers
We are excitedly looking forward to hosting our whole school Learning Expo next week Wednesday from 4 -5:30pm. All the students, under the guidance of the teachers, are putting the finishing touches to the numerous learning experiences, which they are looking forward to sharing with you on the afternoon. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to see first-hand the rich Inquiry Learning experiences and outcomes which have taken place across the whole school. The afternoon will provide you with the opportunity to see and hear your own child's learning experiences from the past 10 weeks. I look forward to seeing you there.
What an outstanding result was achieved by our Senior School cross-country team last Thursday! Thank you to the 28 athletes who represented St Paul's with such great determination and were wonderful ambassadors for our school on the day. St Paul's won the C-Division [small schools] for the 5th year in a row – a remarkable achievement and a clear indicator of the depth of talent which exists on our campus. Congratulations to Ryan McKenzie who won his age group race on the day and will now go on to represent the Caboolture District at the Regional Championships next month – we are all very proud of you! Thank you to the parents and caregivers of these athletes for your support on the day and our PE teacher, Miss Jess Gall, for a hugely successful cross-country season at St Paul's this year. We now look forward to the upcoming athletics carnivals later in the term.
Last week Thursday St Paul's enjoyed hosting a lovely afternoon tea with 140 of our Mothers, Daughters and Grandmothers as an early celebration leading into Mother's Day last Sunday. It was our pleasure to not only host you but also acknowledge the significant role which you play in your child's life as well as the positive contribution which you make towards supporting your child's journey at St Paul's. Thank you Jenny and her team of faithful helpers in the tuckshop for looking after the catering as well as the many staff members who, under the guidance of Mrs. Lois Kube and Ms. Debbie Barnes, showed a wonderful servant heart on the day. Planning is already underway for our Fathers and Sons' event next term.
The St Paul's and Grace Caboolture Robotics teams enjoyed an amazing day of challenges and learning last Saturday as they competed at the Sumo Robotics Competiton up on the Sunshine Coast. The 13 teams displayed great team work, collaboration and creativity as they put their skills on the line. Thank you to the many parents, team mentors, Mrs. Wendy Greene, Mr. Josh Witham and our Robotics co-ordinator Mrs. Libby Sansome for the time and encouragement put in to support these students on their learning journey.
Our Year 3 students will be hosting the first School Sunday of the term this weekend. Thank you Year 3 students and staff for all the hard work which has gone in so far to making this great sharing experience possible. GSP [Grace/ St Paul's] Soccer will also be hosting the inaugural Christian Schools Soccer Cup at St Paul's next Tuesday afternoon. We are looking forward to an afternoon of fun and showcasing the great work being done in this area of the school's extra-curricular program. Thank you to Mr. Matt Nicholls and Miss Jess Gall for your contribution in this initiative.
Have a great week and stay warm on those colder mornings!
Yours in Christ.
