The Kindy Director and the two St Paul’s Kindergarten teachers are very excited. Planned for the first week of Term Three, iPads minis will be rolled out into the Kindergarten classrooms.
“The teachers’ can’t wait,” said Mrs. Sam Beaman, director of the two stream Kindergarten.
“Since we opened at the beginning of the year, the children have been really keen to use the Interactive WhiteBoards, and they’ve all wanted longer turns. So we’re introducing the iPad minis, so that we can extend what we’re doing with literacy and numeracy – this way, the children can sit and play more with the programs, and really explore at their own pace,” she said. “We’re giving them the opportunities to follow their own interests more,” she added.
From Maths apps to apps on phonics, letters and word concepts; from colours, routines and emotion learning through to understanding more about sustainability and the environment; the children will now be able to use the latest technology to continue their explorations of the wide world around them.
“We’re all pretty excited about it,” said Mrs. Beaman. “We can’t wait to start!”
