At St Paul's Lutheran Primary School, we strive to make all newcomers welcome. New students in class are appointed "buddies" to assist them to adjust to their new school. Parents can also participate in grade level social functions organised by a year-level parent coordinator.
A strong Pastoral Care program is extended to the students through its values program. This along with the Life Long Qualities of Learners is embedded into the curriculum. In addition to this, teachers endeavour to impart the importance of caring about others not just at school but around the world. Students actively support a sponsor child overseas and other charitable fundraising initiatives.
The school's Christian Studies course aims to inculcate a love for others and for God. Students attend weekly chapel and have daily class devotions. The services of the School Pastor (Chaplain) are available for students and their families wanting someone to share their burdens. The school's church community has a prayer circle that is open to including support for school families.
Teachers conduct their lessons in an environment that is calm, happy and caring. Students are encouraged to respect other people, places and themselves in a disciplined way. Teachers guide their students socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually as well as educationally. Positive reinforcement is employed to encourage students to make good choices. Warnings are issued before sanctions are applied.
