As part of the Queensland Premier’s Reading Challenge, Students are encouraged to read as many books as they can!
To complete the challenge:
- Prep to Year 2 should read or experience at least 20 books
- Years 3 and 4 at least 20 books
- Years 5 to 6 at least 15 books.
These can be books from home, your school library or even a public library Below is a list to get you started

Dreaming with Eyes Open CBCA 2022 Book Week starts 22 August 2022
Monday the “Paws for Reading” book fair opens in the GLAD Centre . Parents may visit all week from 8.00am-8.30 and 3.00-3.30pm or order online.
Tuesday is the Book Blanket. Year 6 are invited to bring a blanket or picnic rug and read to the younger students.
Wednesday at 8.30am the Book Parade will get underway. Come dressed as your favourite book character.
Friday the Premier’s Reading Challenges (PRC) closes. This is the last day to submit your entry today for great prizes.
Grandparents visit the Book Fair and may donate a book to the library.
Competition: Make a Dreamcatcher. Be creative and make a traditional dream catcher from ribbon and lace, or one from recycled materials, junk materials, natural materials or whatever else you can find!
